Good news for train travelers and pilgrims visiting Somnath Temple. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his two-day visit to Gujarat, will virtually inaugurate several railway projects from Dahod. One of the main highlights is the launch of a new Vande Bharat Express that will run between Ahmedabad (Sabarmati) and Veraval in Gir Somnath district.

Faster travel experience for pilgrims
This new train service is aimed at reducing travel time and making the journey more comfortable for tourists and pilgrims heading to the famous Somnath Temple. According to Western Railway, this route will help connect important cities in Gujarat while offering a smoother travel experience.
The Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week, except Thursdays, and cover a distance of 438 kilometers in just 7 hours. This fast and comfortable service is expected to be a great option for regular travelers and visitors heading to religious places.
Train schedule and route
The train will run with number 26901 from Sabarmati to Veraval and return as 26902. It will stop at several important stations on the way, including Viramgam, Surendranagar, Wankaner, Rajkot, and Junagadh. These stops will help more people benefit from the service along the route.
This train will have eight coaches, including both AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car. Passengers can choose between the two classes based on their comfort and budget.
Ticket booking and fare
Tickets for this new Vande Bharat Express are now available. Passengers can book their seats online through the IRCTC website or app. Those who prefer offline booking can use the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters at railway stations.
The ticket fare for the AC Chair Car is set at Rs 1,105. For those who want a more premium experience, the Executive Chair Car fare is Rs 2,110. The fares are designed to be affordable while offering a modern train experience.
More railway projects in Gujarat
Along with this Vande Bharat train, the Prime Minister will also flag off a new express train connecting Valsad and Dahod. These new train services are part of a bigger plan to improve rail transport in Gujarat. By launching new routes and upgrading facilities, the government aims to meet the rising demand for fast and comfortable travel.
The new Sabarmati-Veraval Vande Bharat Express is a major step forward in improving travel for Gujarat's residents and visitors. It not only supports religious tourism but also strengthens the state's railway network.
