Mysuru Dasara: South Western Railway's Special Bengaluru-Mysuru Train Services Announced

Mysore, often celebrated for its enchanting Mysore Palace, is a treasure trove of diverse attractions that captivate travelers from far and wide. Among these wonders, the Mysore Dasara festival stands out as a celebration of triumph over adversity, drawing crowds from all corners of the country to immerse themselves in its vibrant festivities. This 10-day extravaganza embodies the spirit of victory and serves as a must-attend event for every visitor.

The South Western Railway has stepped up to assist passengers during Mysuru Dasara 2023 by introducing special train services between Bengaluru and Mysuru. These specially arranged trains will connect Mysuru to both Bengaluru and Chamarajanagar stations, facilitating seamless travel for the influx of enthusiastic travelers.

Mysore's much-anticipated Dasara celebrations are set to kick off on the 15th of October 2023, and the grand culmination will take place on the 24th of October 2023, with the grand Jamboo Savari and Torchlight Parade marking the final day of the festival. The entire city becomes awash with a jubilant spirit as locals and visitors alike revel in the joyous ambiance.

The Mysuru-KSR Bengaluru-Mysuru Central Unreserved Special Train (06279/06280) will operate on five separate trips during the festival. Departing from Mysuru at 11:15 pm between October 20th and 24th, the train is scheduled to arrive at KSR Bengaluru at 2:30 am the following day. Conversely, the KSR Bengaluru-Mysuru special train will leave KSR Bengaluru at 3 am from the 21st to the 25th, arriving in Mysore at 6:15 am the same day.

To accommodate the influx of passengers, these trains will make stops at various key stations, including Naganahalli, Mandya, Ramanagara, Kengeri, and Nayandahalli. Additionally, the Mysore-KSR Bangalore-Mysore (06597/06598) unreserved special train will operate for five trips, departing from Mysore at 12:15 pm from the 20th to the 24th and arriving at KSR Bangalore at 3:30 pm on the same day. The return journey will commence at 3:45 pm from Bengaluru, reaching Mysore at 7:20 pm on the same day.
