Mumbai, July 2: The Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has announced a scheduled power shutdown in parts of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region on Thursday, July 2, 2026, to facilitate maintenance and related power network works.
According to the utility's outage schedule, residents in Thane Rural, Diva and Kalwa may experience electricity disruption during the day. Consumers are advised to complete essential work in advance and keep backup arrangements ready wherever required.

Why is there a power cut today?
