A 27-year-old influencer from Mumbai, Aanvi Kamdar, tragically died after falling into a 300-foot deep gorge near Kumbhe waterfall in Raigad district. The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 16, while Kamdar was on a monsoon outing with seven friends. Kamdar, who lived in Mulund, Mumbai, had a significant following on Instagram. Known as theglocaljournal, she had 257,000 followers and shared content about travel, luxury finds, cafés, itineraries, tips, and experiences. Her bio indicated she was a chartered accountant and a former Deloitte employee.

Incident Details
According to a Mangaon police station official, Kamdar visited the scenic waterfall with her friends amid the rains. While recording a video of the surroundings, she slipped and fell into the gorge. Her friends immediately alerted the authorities.
Police and local rescuers quickly arrived at the scene. They rushed Kamdar to Mangaon Taluka Government Hospital. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

Kamdar's last Instagram reel was posted just two days before the incident. In it, she provided suggestions for plans for the upcoming long weekend on August 15.
Who was Anvi Kamdar?
Anvi Kamdar, who has over 254,000 followers on Instagram, studied to become a Chartered Accountant and briefly worked at Deloitte. A resident of Mumbai, she visited Kumbhe Falls to shoot some footage. On July 16, hundreds of tourists, including Anvi and her friends, were at Kumbhe Falls. Anvi, a popular reel star, slipped while trying to take a picture and fell into a ravine approximately 300 to 350 feet deep.
Another Tragic Incident
In another unfortunate event in Dombivli, about 30 km from Mumbai, a woman named Nagina Devi Manjiram died after falling from the third floor of a building. The incident happened at Globe State building in Vikas Naka area of Dombivli East on Tuesday.
Nagina Devi Manjiram worked as a cleaner at the building. She was sitting near the staircase on the third floor and chatting with colleagues when she lost her balance and fell. Her friend Bunty narrowly avoided falling as well; he lost his balance but was saved by people around him.
The tragic deaths of Aanvi Kamdar and Nagina Devi Manjiram highlight the importance of safety during outings and social gatherings.
