As excitement builds for the IPL 2025 match between Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants at Wankhede Stadium on April 27, the Mumbai Traffic Police have announced special guidelines. These measures are aimed at managing the large crowds and heavy traffic expected around the stadium on match day. The game will begin at 3:30 PM, and temporary traffic regulations and parking restrictions will be in place from 12 noon to almost midnight.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Traffic, Pradnya Jedge, has issued strict instructions. These include a ban on parking in many areas near the stadium and strong advice to avoid bringing personal vehicles. Spectators are encouraged to use public transportation, especially the suburban trains, to reach the match safely and easily.
Guiding Spectators to the Stadium
For smooth entry into the stadium, special walking routes have been suggested based on where spectators arrive.
- Those coming from Churchgate Railway Station with tickets for Gate Nos. 01, 02, and 07 should walk towards 'D' Road.
- Spectators arriving on Maharshi Karve Road should use the foot overbridge near Pratishta Bhavan to access Gate No. 05.
- People reaching Anandilal Potdar Junction can use the foot overbridge towards 'E' Road and then walk through Mumbai Vidyapith Stadium Gate and Patan Jain Mandal Road to reach Gate Nos. 04 and 05.
- Visitors coming from Marine Lines Station with tickets for Gate Nos. 04 and 05A are asked to walk towards 'F' Road.
These instructions are intended to make pedestrian movement easier and safer for everyone.
Travel and Parking Restrictions
Several roads around Wankhede Stadium, including Veer Nariman Road, will be closed to regular vehicle traffic during the match hours. Alternative routes will be available to help manage vehicle movement. Parking will not be allowed on roads such as "C" Road, "D" Road, "E" Road, and others nearby to reduce congestion.
Strict action will be taken against violators. Vehicles parked in restricted areas will be towed, and e-challans will be issued. The police have stressed the need for everyone to follow the rules for their own safety and convenience.
For those using N.S. Road (Marine Drive), instructions have been given to walk only on pavements and avoid the main road. Private vehicles will be allowed to drop off passengers at specific points along N.S. Road. Clear directions have been given for U-turns both before and after the match to maintain smooth traffic flow.
With these detailed plans, the Mumbai Traffic Police aim to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for both spectators and residents. By following the traffic guidelines, everyone can help make IPL 2025 at Wankhede a great success.
