If you are a passport holder you must be very well aware of the police verification process and its importance in getting a valid passport. With the purpose of streamlining and accelerating the police verification of passport issue procedure, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has released the "mPassport Police App."

Amit Shah, the Union Home Minister, introduced the new digital services during the 76th Raising Day Parade of the Delhi Police. Amit Shah stated during the service's introduction that residents of Delhi will no longer need to wait 15 days for police verification when applying for a passport anymore.

According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the mPassport Police App aims to cut the police verification process's duration in sort, from 15 to 5 days. The timeline for passport issuance would be shortened by 10 days as a result.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs planned to introduce the ability to apply for PCC service at all online Post Office Passport Seva Kendras nationwide in 2022 to address the increase in demand for Police Clearance Certificates (PCC).

Union Home Minister gave 350 mobile tablets to the Special Branch staff of the Delhi Police so they could conduct police verification. The shortened procedure will make report submissions paperless. Delhi Police tweeted, "Hon'ble HM@AmitShah has dedicated 350 Mobile Tablets to personnel of Spl. Branch/Delhi Police. With these tablets, the entire process of passport application verification will become digital and paperless, and verification time will be reduced to 5 days."

Users of the Police Station can download the mPassport Police app. These individuals include individuals who have already accessed the PSP Police (Web) application in order to record the input (details) of field verification processing performed at the applicant's additional address for passport service applicants. The app is therefore meant for police officers who would visit passport applicants' homes to conduct verifications.
