The Ministry of Railways shared a captivating video on X today, unveiling the excitement surrounding the inaugural journey of the Mangaluru-Madgaon VandeBharat Express. The heartwarming video featured a group of jubilant children performing Pili Vesha, setting the tone for the grand occasion.
Scheduled for a momentous launch on December 30, the Vande Bharat Express from Mangaluru Central to Madgaon Junction is poised to commence its maiden journey. The much-anticipated event will see Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagging off the train at 10 am through video conferencing from Ayodhya, adding a prestigious touch to the inauguration.
Inaugural Celebrations: A Grand Affair
The Vande Bharat Express is set to traverse through Udupi, Karwar, and Madgaon, with a series of grand receptions planned at each stop during its inaugural run. The festive atmosphere is expected to be infectious, with celebrations echoing through the air.
On its inaugural day, the Vande Bharat Express will follow a carefully planned timetable, reaching Udupi at 12.25/12.27 pm, Karwar at 14.52/14.54 pm, and finally, Madgaon Junction at 16.40 pm.
Scheduled Operations: Connecting Coastal Delights
Operating as per the confirmed timetable by the railways, the Vande Bharat Express will embark on its journey from Mangaluru Central at 8.30 am, reaching Madgaon at 1.15 pm. On this scenic route, it will make stops at Udupi (9.48 am/9.50 am) and Karwar (12.08 pm/12.10 pm).
For the return journey, the train is set to depart from Madgaon at 6.10 pm, arriving at Mangaluru Central at 10.45 pm. Along the way, it will pause at Udupi (9.12 pm/9.14 pm) and Karwar (6.55 pm/6.57 pm). Notably, the train will not be operational on Thursdays, allowing for necessary maintenance and preparation.

Inspection by MP Nalin Kumar Kateel: Ensuring a Smooth Ride
In preparation for the grand inauguration, Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel took the initiative to inspect the arrangements at Mangaluru Central Railway Station on Friday. His meticulous inspection included a review of the fourth and fifth platforms, ensuring that everything was in order for the historic moment.
The inspection highlighted the commitment to providing passengers with a seamless and comfortable travel experience aboard the Vande Bharat Express. Nalin Kumar Kateel's involvement underscores the significance of this new addition to the railway network, connecting key coastal destinations with efficiency.
