Kanwar Yatra Trains 2026: Indian Railways to Introduce and Extend the Operation of Several Services and

To manage the heavy rush of devotees during the Kanwar Yatra 2026, Indian Railways has introduced special train services and extended the routes of some existing trains. The move aims to provide easier and more comfortable travel for lakhs of Kanwariyas visiting Haridwar and Rishikesh during the annual pilgrimage.

One of the major changes is the extension of the Delhi-Saharanpur MEMU train up to Haridwar. The service will run from July 30 to August 14. The train will leave Delhi at 4.15 pm, reach Saharanpur at 8.50 pm, and after a short halt, continue to Haridwar via Roorkee and Jwalapur, arriving at 10.50 pm. On the return journey, it will depart Haridwar at 2 am and reach Delhi at 8.45 am.

The Delhi-Shamli DEMU train has also been extended to Haridwar for the same period. It will travel through Shamli, Thana Bhawan, Rampur Maniharan and Tapri, giving devotees another convenient option to the holy city.

Apart from extending existing services, Northern Railway has announced two special trains for Kanwar Yatra passengers. These include the Haridwar-Delhi Shahdara Fair Special and the Yog Nagari Rishikesh-Delhi Shahdara Fair Special. Additional coaches have also been attached to some trains to accommodate the increased number of passengers during the pilgrimage season.

Advisory for Passengers

Authorities have also made special arrangements on roads. Haryana Roadways is operating daily bus services between Ballabhgarh and Haridwar, with more buses to be added if required. Traffic diversions and restrictions have been imposed in several parts of Uttar Pradesh and Delhi-NCR to ensure the smooth movement of Kanwar pilgrims while reducing congestion for other commuters.
