"This time we are planning to celebrate the anniversary of Lord Krishna with much grandeur and divinity. The occasion will be celebrated with great pomp and show in the state, considering the importance of Lord Krishna and his values," Singh said.
Meeting for Grand Celebrations
Soon after, Singh mentioned that a meeting was held to discuss preparations for the grand celebrations. "All concerned authorities held a meeting today to discuss the schedule and the funding. We have also instructed officials regarding the celebrations. The tourism department will work to approve the additional funds needed. We will design a proper schedule for the public as well. This year, the program will be unique and grand," he added.
Krishna Janmashtami is set to be celebrated on August 26 this year across India. Devotees commemorate Lord Krishna's birth by fasting and decorating temples and homes with flowers, diyas, and lights.
Significance of Krishna Janmashtami
According to the Hindu calendar, Lord Krishna, an avatar of Lord Vishnu, was born on the eighth day of Bhadra month, which usually falls in August or September in the Western calendar. The occasion is a grand celebration in Mathura and Vrindavan, where it is believed that Krishna spent his youth and childhood.
The festival holds immense cultural and religious significance, drawing devotees from all over to participate in various rituals and festivities. The state's tourism department aims to enhance these celebrations by ensuring proper scheduling and funding.
This year's celebration promises to be more elaborate than ever before, aiming to attract more visitors and devotees. The authorities are keen on making this event memorable while highlighting Lord Krishna's teachings and values.
The preparations reflect not only religious devotion but also a significant boost to local tourism. By organising such grand events, Uttar Pradesh hopes to draw more tourists to experience its rich cultural heritage.
The state's efforts underline its commitment to preserving cultural traditions while promoting tourism. As devotees gear up for this auspicious occasion, Mathura is set to transform into a vibrant hub of spiritual activities.
The upcoming celebrations are expected to bring together people from different walks of life, united by their devotion to Lord Krishna. With meticulous planning and execution, this year's Janmashtami is poised to be an unforgettable event for all attendees.
