Commuters on Mumbai Metro Lines 2A and 7 experienced minor service changes on Wednesday, September 24, after the Maha Mumbai Metro Operation Corporation Ltd. (MMMOCL) made temporary adjustments to ensure smooth operations and passenger safety. According to the update, Line 2A trains continued to run normally between Andheri West and

Dahisar East, and a short-loop service was added between Gundavali and Aarey on both lines. Moreover, trains between Ovaripada and Aarey operated on a single track in both directions. Officials stated that these were temporary measures aimed at streamlining services, and assured passengers that safety and convenience remained their top priority.
Mumbai Metro New Lines to Benefit Commuters
Even with these changes, Mumbai Metro's new corridors Line 2A (Yellow Line) and Line 7 (Red Line) continue to gain popularity, which were launched to ease the pressure on the suburban train network and provide quicker east-west connectivity. Today, they are becoming an important part of the city's transport system. Recently, the two lines set a new record in ridership. On September 16, MMMOCL reported that a total of 3,40,571 passengers travelled on Lines 2A and 7 in a single day, the highest since operations began. This milestone was announced through an official statement as well as on social media. "Thank you, Mumbai, for making Maha Mumbai Metro your preferred choice. We're proud to move with you, every day," the corporation posted on X.
Officials highlighted that this growing ridership shows commuter confidence in the metro's speed, affordability, and reliability. For many, the metro is proving to be a much-needed alternative to the heavily congested Western Express Highway and SV Road, making daily travel faster and more comfortable.
