The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) has announced planned power cuts lasting between 7 and 8 hours on December 27 and December 28 due to maintenance work. These scheduled outages will affect several parts of Karnataka, with many areas in Bengaluru facing electricity disruption.
Power Outage on 27 Dec
On Saturday, December 27, BESCOM carried out maintenance work for at least seven hours. Because of this, residents in different parts of Bengaluru experience interruptions in power supply throughout the day.
Power Cut on 28 Dec
On Sunday, December 28, BESCOM has planned a longer shutdown of around eight hours. Power supply will be interrupted from 10 am to 5 pm in areas connected to the 66/11 KV Byadarahalli and 66/11 KV Srigandhakaval stations. This outage is part of routine quarterly maintenance to ensure smooth functioning of the power network.
List of Areas to be Affected
Areas under the Byadarahalli station that may be affected include Mahadeshwaranagar, Prasanna Layout, Hoshalli, Kempegowdanagar, Gollarahalli, Nedakerappa Industrial Area, Herohalli, Thunganagara, Vigneshwaranagara, Annapoorneshwarinagara, Anjananagara, Sunkadakatte, Neelagiritopu, Hegganahalli, and nearby localities.
Similarly, regions supplied by the Srigandhakaval station may also face power cuts. These include NGEF Layout, Balaji Layout, MPM Layout, Sir MV 9th Block, Mallathahalli, Kengunte, Ullal Main Road, Channigappa Industrial Area, Kottigepalya, Sumanahalli, Sunkadakatte Main Road, Hoysalanagara, Maruthinagara, and surrounding areas.
KPTCL's Work
Moreover, the Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation Limited (KPTCL) will carry out work at the Soladevanahalli substation on Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. This will result in an eight-hour power outage in areas such as Tarabanahalli, Hesarghatta, Chikkabanavara, Dwarakanagar, Ganapathi Nagar, Shantinagar, Maruti Nagar, Dasenahalli, Hosahalli Palya, and nearby places.
Residents are advised to plan their activities during these scheduled power cuts.
