Extra trips, halts and Western Railway connectors
Extra trips add capacity on the western flank: Mumbai Central–Thokur 09013/09014 on September 15–16; Mumbai Central–Sawantwadi Road 09019/09020 on select dates; Bandra Terminus–Ratnagiri unreserved 09035/09036 on Thursdays and Fridays; plus Vadodara, Vishwamitri, Udhna and Valsad links. Bookings for many of these opened August 9 or August 15.
Panvel, Thane, Dadar crowd and travel advisories
Expect heaviest footfall at Dadar, Thane and Panvel during September 11–27. Mumbai authorities have sought late‑night metro runs and curtailed rail megablocks; security deployment is planned at major stations. Arrive early, board from Panvel or Roha if flexible, and track live status on NTES before heading out.
Coach plans matter this week: most KR specials carry 22 coaches, including six general. LTT–Madgaon runs with a 21‑coach LHB set for stability. Tatkal refunds are limited; review IRCTC rules before booking. Finally, as KRCL notes, “Passengers are requested to kindly avail the services.” Keep an eye on today’s updates for any added trips.
