Kolkata Metro will alter its services on August 15, 2024, to mark Independence Day. These changes will impact the Blue Line, Green Line-1, and Green Line-2. The Blue Line will see a significant reduction in trips, operating only 188 instead of the usual 288. The first trains will depart at 06:50 hrs from Dumdum to Kavi Subhash and from Kavi Subhash to Dakshineshwar. Additionally, a train will leave Dumdum for Dakshineshwar at 06:55 hrs, and another will head from Dakshineshwar to Kavi Subhash at 07:00 hrs.
Green Line-1 Adjustments
Green Line-1 will also experience a decrease in services, with only 90 trips compared to the regular 106. The first train will leave Sealdah for Salt Lake Sector V at 06:55 hrs. The initial service from Salt Lake Sector V to Sealdah will start at 07:05 hrs. The last trains of the day are scheduled for 21:35 hrs from Sealdah to Salt Lake Sector V and at 21:40 hrs from Salt Lake Sector V to Sealdah.
Green Line-2 Updates
Similarly, Green Line-2's schedule will be reduced, offering only 90 services instead of the usual 130. The first trains of the day will depart Howrah Maidan for Esplanade and Esplanade for Howrah Maidan both at 07:00 hrs. The final services are set for departure at 21:45 hrs from both Howrah Maidan to Esplanade and Esplanade to Howrah Maidan.
The last Blue Line services include departures at 21:28 hrs from Dakshineshwar to Kavi Subhash and at 21:30 hrs from Kavi Subhash to Dakshineshwar. Trains will also leave Dumdum for Kavi Subhash and vice versa at 21:40 hrs. Special night services remain unchanged, with trains departing from Kavi Subhash and Dumdum at 22:40 hrs.
Passengers should stay informed about these changes and plan their travel accordingly. Regular services on the Purple Line and Orange Line will continue without any modifications.
