Rajasthan is experiencing an early chill this year, with temperatures dropping in both the day and night. This cooling trend is linked to light snowfall in Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, which has led to lower temperatures across North India. In Mount Abu, the popular hill station, the temperature at night has fallen to 10°C. However, it's not just Mount Abu-temperatures across Rajasthan have dropped by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius. This change is due to an active Western Disturbance bringing rain and snow to northern regions, which is expected to last for a few more days.

Weather experts say that once this weather system moves away, Rajasthan and nearby states may see temperatures fall further around November 17. Recent weather has already caused temperatures to drop in cities across Rajasthan. For example, Barmer recorded a maximum temperature of 35.2°C over the last 24 hours. Cities like Phalodi, Bikaner, Churu, Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jalore, Baran, Udaipur, Jaipur, and Ajmer have also seen their maximum temperatures drop by 1 to 5 degrees Celsius.
Chilly Mornings and Cold Nights
Morning fog and mist have added to the cold in places like Sri Ganganagar. Ganganagar and Hanumangarh have experienced light fog throughout the day, reducing the sun's warmth and lowering maximum temperatures to 26.8°C and 26.5°C, respectively. The weather department expects fog to continue in these areas, indicating that colder days are ahead.
Night temperatures are also dropping across Rajasthan due to northern winds. Seven cities in the state have recorded minimum temperatures below 15°C, with Mount Abu being the coldest at 10.4°C. Other cities like Sirohi, Fatehpur, Jalore, Sikar, Bhilwara, and Ajmer also felt the chill, with temperatures ranging between 12.2°C and 14.8°C.

Concerns Over Air Quality
As temperatures drop, air quality has become a concern, especially in Bhiwadi, which recorded the worst Air Quality Index (AQI) in Rajasthan at 310. Bikaner followed closely with an AQI of 294. Areas in Jaipur, including Adarsh Nagar, Mansarovar, MI Road, Sitapura, Murlipura, and Shastri Nagar, also reported poor air quality, showing the environmental impact of changing weather.
Winter Prediction for Rajasthan
