The Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation Ltd has taken an important step in expanding the city's metro system. On Friday, it issued a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) for work worth more than Rs 918 crore, marking significant progress in Phase-2 of the Jaipur Metro project.

Jaipur Metro Work
The approved work includes designing and building an elevated track along with 10 elevated stations. This will be developed over a 12-kilometre stretch from Prahladpura to Pinjrapol Gaushala. The stations planned along this route are Prahladpura, Manpura, Bilwa Kalan, Bilwa, Goner Mod, Sitapura, JECC, Kumbha Marg, Haldighati Gate, and Pinjrapol Gaushala. Officials have said that construction work on this corridor is expected to begin soon.
Jaipur Metro Phase 2 Project
This development comes after instructions from Bhajan Lal Sharma, who has asked authorities to approve the metro expansion. He has directed that work on Phase-2 should move faster and that tenders for the remaining sections should be released as soon as possible. The government is now planning to invite tenders for the remaining 29 kilometres of the total 41-kilometre Phase-2 network. The entire project is estimated to cost around Rs 13,037.66 crore and has already received approval from the Union Cabinet.
How will this help?
Officials believe that once completed, this metro expansion will improve transportation in the city. It will provide better connectivity to important residential areas, industrial zones, and educational institutions, especially in the southern and eastern parts of Jaipur, making daily travel easier for many people.
