Travel between Jaipur and Delhi is set to become much faster with the nearing completion of the Jaipur-Bandikui expressway project. This new route, which connects directly to the Delhi-Mumbai expressway, promises to significantly reduce travel time between the two cities. Officials report that around 80% of the 67 km long four-lane expressway has already been completed.
Compensation Disbursed
The construction faced delays due to the need to remove 265 buildings along the route. Compensation amounting to Rs 14,54,00,000 (fourteen crore fifty-four lakh) was provided to affected property owners. With this issue resolved, construction has resumed at full speed.
Significant obstacles, including the removal of 250 shops, houses, and other structures obstructing the route, have been successfully addressed. Compensation was provided to those affected, allowing construction to progress smoothly. This development is expected to drastically cut travel time between Jaipur and Delhi.
Enhanced Connectivity
The upcoming Clover Leaf Six Lane Expressway will seamlessly integrate with the Southern Ring Road and Jaipur-Agra Highway. Initial work on Clover Leaf Raps 3 and 4 began between April and May, with further phases planned. This integration will further enhance connectivity and travel efficiency in the region.
Upon completion of this ambitious project, the journey from Delhi to Jaipur will be reduced to a swift three-hour drive. This is a significant improvement compared to the current several-hour road trip. The expressway aims to provide a quicker and more convenient travel option than even the high-speed Vande Bharat Express train.
Project Progress
Approximately 80% of the work on this crucial link has been accomplished so far. The remaining construction is progressing rapidly now that compensation issues have been settled. The expressway's completion will bring substantial relief from traffic congestion on existing routes.
