Detailed Itinerary
- Day 1 (Tuesday): The journey begins with a departure from Howrah Railway Station at 23:55 hrs on train no. 12331, the Himgiri Express.
- Day 2 (Wednesday): The entire day is spent traveling by train, allowing you to relax and prepare for the pilgrimage ahead.
- Day 3 (Thursday): Arrival at Jammu Railway Station at 13:00 hrs, followed by a car transfer to Katra (51 km, approximately 1.5 hours). Upon arrival, you will check into the hotel and have the evening free for personal activities. Dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel in Katra.
- Day 4 (Friday): After an early breakfast, the pilgrimage to Mata Vaishno Devi Bhawan begins. This sacred site is located in the Trikuta mountains, 12 km from the base camp at Katra (Ban Ganga). Devotees can undertake the trek on foot or opt for ponies, palkis, or even a helicopter service (at an additional cost). If time permits, a visit to Bhaironath Temple is also recommended. The day ends with a return to Katra for dinner and an overnight stay.
- Day 5 (Saturday): After breakfast, you will proceed to Patnitop, a famous hill resort located 95 km from Katra. This scenic drive takes you to a beautiful plateau at an altitude of 2,024 meters. The visit includes the famous Nag Temple, Padora Enclave, and Patnitop Park. In the afternoon, a short trip to Sanasar (20 km away) offers the opportunity to enjoy the picturesque meadows and a serene lake. The day concludes with a return to Katra for dinner and an overnight stay.
- Day 6 (Sunday): After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Jammu for a city tour, visiting Raghunath Temple, Mahamaya Temple, and other local sights. In the evening, you will be dropped off at Jammu Railway Station to catch the Himgiri Express (12332) at 22:45 hrs for the return journey.
- Day 7 (Monday): The day is spent on the train, traveling back to Howrah.
- Day 8 (Tuesday): Arrival at Howrah Railway Station at 11:30 hrs, marking the end of the tour.
