Boosting Connectivity: Indore-Ujjain Vande Metro Approved
In a significant move towards enhanced connectivity, the Railway Minister has given the green light for the operation of the Vande Metro train between Indore and Ujjain. This comes after MP Shankar Lalwani proposed the idea to improve travel convenience for tourists and students commuting between the two cities regularly.

Indore-Ujjain Vande Metro: A Milestone in Connectivity
MP Shankar Lalwani expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav for approving the Vande Metro train between Indore and Ujjain. This development is considered a major achievement, particularly benefiting employees and students who frequently travel between these two cities.
Designed for distances less than 100 kilometers, the Vande Metro is a shorter version of the renowned Vande Bharat Express. Operating 4 to 5 times a day, this train promises a rapid shuttle-like experience for passengers, connecting the cities seamlessly. With eight coaches resembling a metro setup, the Vande Metro aims to provide a world-class transport facility for quick and efficient travel.
The proposed operation gains additional significance in light of the Simhastha celebration scheduled for 2028. By reducing traffic pressure, the Vande Metro is poised to play a crucial role during this grand event.
Revolutionizing Sleeper Trains: Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains to Replace Rajdhani Express

Meanwhile, the Indian Railways is gearing up for a major overhaul by planning to replace 10 Rajdhani Express trains, including two passing through Bhopal, with the highly-advanced Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains. The Railway Ministry envisions introducing over 100 Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains by 2025.
The revamped sleeper trains will feature improved services, including a mini pantry in each coach, ensuring a more comfortable journey for passengers. Each coach will boast a minimum of 51 berths along with top-notch amenities, adding a touch of luxury to the travel experience. The inaugural phase will witness the introduction of Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains with 16 coaches.
To expedite the production process, decentralized production units are being established in various cities to manufacture sitting and sleeper category coaches for the Vande Bharat Trains. This shift from the traditional centralized approach signifies a significant stride towards streamlining operations and meeting the growing demand for advanced sleeper trains.
In January, the allocation process is set to unfold, paving the way for the actual transition of train setups in March. With these advancements, Indian Railways is not just enhancing connectivity but also redefining the travel experience for passengers across the nation.
