Visitors using the standard 30-day visa on arrival or a 60-day extended visa need not worry, as long as they stick to their visa conditions.
In response to these stricter rules, 125 officers have been deployed to Bali, one of Indonesia's top tourist destinations, to ensure that immigration laws are followed. Bali has always been a favorite among international visitors, and these officers aim to make sure that tourists follow the rules while enjoying their stay. The officers will patrol the island in 20 Jeeps and 20 motorcycles, making them highly mobile and visible to tourists.
The Indonesian government has also given these officers the authority to carry firearms. According to the Directorate General of Immigration for Indonesia, **Silmy Karim**, this decision was made to protect officers and ensure they can handle transnational criminals who may pose a threat. "Officers often secure dangerous transnational criminals, so the use of firearms is needed as self-protection and to ensure officers can catch the perpetrators," Karim stated. Additionally, Indonesia plans to establish more immigration checkpoints to strengthen its monitoring efforts.
