IndiGo, India's largest airline, is set to broaden its international reach with new daily non-stop flights from Kannur to Abu Dhabi starting May 9. This strategic move aims to foster closer ties in travel, trade, and tourism between India and the United Arab Emirates (UAE). With these flights, IndiGo will increase its service to Abu Dhabi, offering 56 weekly flights from eight cities across India.

Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed enthusiasm over the new routes, emphasizing the opportunity for enhanced connectivity. This initiative not only promises to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries but also opens up new avenues for travelers. The introduction of direct flights from Kannur to Abu Dhabi is poised to offer more travel options, especially with the summer holidays approaching.
Abu Dhabi, the UAE's capital, is a destination known for its cultural richness, modern architecture, and bustling markets. Conversely, Kannur, located in the northern part of Kerala, is celebrated for its breathtaking beaches, historical landmarks, handloom textiles, and the Theyyam art form. The new flights will enable Abu Dhabi residents to explore Kannur's unique cultural and natural beauty, making it an attractive option for holidaymakers and adventurers alike.
With the launch of these flights, IndiGo continues to demonstrate its commitment to connecting diverse destinations, thereby facilitating easier and more efficient travel for its passengers. The airline's expansion of its international network underscores its role in enhancing global connectivity and promoting cultural exchange and tourism between India and the UAE.
The direct flights are expected to cater to the increasing demand for travel between the two destinations, providing passengers with convenient travel schedules and fostering economic and cultural exchanges. As summer approaches, these flights offer a timely option for travelers seeking new experiences in the culturally rich landscapes of Kannur and the dynamic cityscape of Abu Dhabi.
