The country's active caseload then decreased to 57,410 and currently only accounts for 0.13 percent of all infections, a decrease of over 4,000 cases from the 61,013 cases reported yesterday.

The ministry reports that the national COVID-19 recovery rate is 98.67% and that the percentage of infections with active cases is now 0.14 percent.
On record, 4,43,11,078 people had recovered from the disease & the case fatality rate was 1.18 percent. According to the ministry's website, as part of the continuing national vaccination drive, 220.66 crore doses of the Covid vaccine have already been delivered.
Current Covid situation in Delhi:
According to information provided by the municipal government's Health department, Delhi recorded 7 fatalities on Wednesday, the most so far this year, and logged 1,040 new Covid-19 cases with a positive rate of 21.16 percent.
Delhi now has recorded 20,36,196 infections in total, and the death rate has increased to 26,613. Covid was not the primary cause of death in three of the seven fatalities, while the infection was only discovered incidentally in two other cases.
The department stated that it is awaiting full case records for the two additional fatalities from the hospitals. There are now 4,708 active cases in Delhi and 3,384 people are being held in home isolation out of the total, it said.
Current Covid situation in Uttar Pradesh:
In the past 24 hours, there have been 627 new Covid cases reported in Uttar Pradesh, with one fatality being reported in Bulandshahr. Data from the health department show that 1.63 % of the tests in the state were positive.
87,000 Covid tests were examined across the state over the last 48 hours. In the course of the day, Lucknow reported 120 new cases of Covid, bringing the total number of current cases receiving treatment to 717. In Gautam Buddha Nagar, there were 106 new cases, bringing the total number of active cases to 670. The number of current cases of Covid in Ghaziabad has increased to 372, with 57 new cases.
Current Covid situation in Maharashtra:
On the previous day, Maharashtra reported 784 new cases of covid infection & 1 fatality. The number of Covid 19 cases in the state increased to 81,63,626, while the mortality toll reached 1,48,508. Right now, Maharashtra is witnessing 5,233 active cases of coronavirus.
In the state, the recovery rate is 98.12%. XBB.1.16 is currently Covid-19's dominant variation in omicron. This variation was discovered to be present in 877 cases, and it has already claimed the lives of 7 people in the state.
