Indian Railways Adds Six Vande Bharat Trains To Enhance Travel

The new routes include Tatanagar-Patna, Brahmapur-Tatanagar, Rourkela-Howrah, Deoghar-Varanasi, Bhagalpur-Howrah, and Gaya-Howrah. "The Vande Bharat Portfolio is ever-expanding with new train services being added for enhanced connectivity," stated the ministry.

These trains are part of the 'Make in India' initiative and feature advanced amenities that ensure luxury and efficiency for passengers. "Indigenously designed under the 'Make in India' initiative, it offers cutting-edge features delivering luxury and efficiency to millions of passengers," the statement added.

The Railway Ministry highlighted that these semi-high-speed trains represent India's ambition for a modern rail system. "With faster commute times, advanced safety features, and world-class amenities, Indian Railways is setting new benchmarks in travel," it said.

The first Vande Bharat train was launched on February 15, 2019. Capable of reaching speeds up to 160 kmph, these trains offer an unparalleled travel experience. The ministry noted that as of September 14, 2024, the fleet has completed around 36,000 trips and carried over 3.17 crore passengers.

The original Vande Bharat train has evolved into Vande Bharat 2.0 with even more advanced features like fast acceleration, Kavach safety system, anti-virus measures, and WiFi connectivity. "As India's rail network continues to expand, passengers can look forward to a future of seamless, comfortable, and efficient travel that caters to the diverse needs of the nation," it added.
