IMD Issues Diverse Weather Forecast For India Until March 19

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has recently issued a weather bulletin predicting varied weather conditions across the country until March 19. The forecast includes snowfall, rainfall, thunderstorms, and potential hailstorms in different regions. This update is crucial for those planning travel or outdoor activities in the affected areas.

Snowfall and Rain Alert

In Himachal Pradesh, the meteorological office anticipates rain, snow, and thunderstorms, especially in the mid and higher hills on March 14, followed by dry weather. Uttarakhand is also set to experience very light to light rain or snow in select areas including Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, and Rudraprayag districts, while the rest of the state is expected to stay dry. A yellow alert, signaling the possibility of thunderstorms with lightning in isolated places, has been issued for these districts.

Similarly, light rainfall or snowfall is projected in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim until March 16. Arunachal Pradesh is forecasted to have isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall or snowfall until March 19.

Rainfall and Thunderstorm Predictions

Light rainfall is anticipated in Gangetic West Bengal and Odisha until March 19. Jharkhand, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and East Madhya Pradesh are likely to see light rainfall from March 16 to March 19. The IMD has also alerted about isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) in Gangetic West Bengal on March 14 and 16, and in East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha on March 16 and 17.

Assam and Meghalaya are expected to have isolated light rainfall till March 19. Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura will likely see isolated light rainfall till March 17.

Delhi's Weather Outlook

The Regional Weather Forecasting Centre (RWFC) in Delhi predicts no rain over the next six days. However, partly cloudy skies are anticipated during this period. Temperature fluctuations are expected to range between 14 and 31 degrees Celsius over the coming days.
