The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning for heavy rainfall in Telangana over the next three days. The forecast includes not just rain but also thunderstorms, lightning, and squalls on September 23, 24, and 25. As a result of this severe prediction, a yellow alert has been declared for several districts.

Yesterday, various parts of Telangana experienced heavy rainfall, with Yadadri Bhuvanagiri district receiving the highest at 103.3 mm. Golconda in Hyderabad also saw significant rainfall, recording 91.3 mm. The IMD anticipates continued rain over the coming days, which will likely increase the total rainfall for this southwest monsoon season.
Hyderabad's Weather and Water Supply Update
In Hyderabad, cloudy skies are expected to persist until September 25. Light to moderate rains or thundershowers may continue through Wednesday. Meanwhile, residents should prepare for a 24-hour water cut on Monday, September 23. This is due to maintenance work by the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply & Sewerage Board.
The maintenance involves repair work on a crucial 1200mm diameter gravity main pipeline between Prashasan Nagar and Ayyappa Society. This pipeline is vital for supplying drinking water to the city through the Krishna Phase 3 project. Areas likely to be affected include Hakimpet, Golconda, Doyens Colony, Tolichowki, Langer Houz, Shaikpet, Film Nagar, Madhapur, Jubilee Hills, Thatti Khana, Kondapur and Gachibowli.
