The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating the likelihood of isolated heavy rainfall across Southern India on September 23 and 24. This weather pattern is expected to extend over various parts of India, including the eastern, central, and northeast regions, from September 23 to 26. Specifically, Chhattisgarh and Vidarbha are set to witness average rainfall throughout the week, with periods of isolated heavy showers. Similarly, Madhya Pradesh is bracing for isolated to moderate rainfall in the coming two days.

In addition to Southern India, the IMD has highlighted that intense showers are expected over Kerala, Coastal Karnataka, and Mahe during the same timeframe. South Interior Karnataka is also anticipated to experience such weather conditions. Furthermore, the forecast includes isolated severe rainfall for Yanam, Telangana, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh from September 23 to 25. As for the East and Northeast, the weather department forecasts light to moderate rains in West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands throughout the week. Additionally, Jharkhand and Bihar are set to experience similar weather patterns over the next four days. A noteworthy highlight is the anticipated isolated heavy downpours in Tripura, Nagaland, Mizoram, Assam, Manipur, and Meghalaya from September 23 to 28, with Arunachal Pradesh joining from September 24 to 28 and Odisha seeing heavy rainfall from September 23 to 26.

Impending Showers in Western India

Western India, excluding Kutch, Gujarat regions, and Saurashtra, has been warned of widespread showers this week. The IMD has specifically warned of isolated heavy to severe downpours in Goa and Konkan from September 23 to 26. Furthermore, Marathwada and Madhya Maharashtra are preparing for similar weather conditions from September 23 to 27.
