The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow alerts for several districts in Kerala, predicting isolated heavy rainfall. This alert covers three southern districts—Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, and Pathanamthitta—and the northern districts of Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, and Kasaragod. The weather office warns of significant rain accompanied by thunderstorms.

Forecasted Rainfall and Safety Measures
Rainfall is expected to range between 64.5 mm and 115.5 mm over the next 24 hours. The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority has advised residents in landslide-prone areas to move to safer locations. Those living near riverbanks and low-lying areas near dams should also be cautious of potential risks.
Authorities have urged people in disaster-prone zones to ensure camps are established locally and relocate during daylight hours. Officials stated, "Residents in disaster-prone areas must ensure that camps are set up in their locality and should relocate to these locations during the day. For assistance, they may contact local bodies and revenue authorities."
The IMD's alert highlights the need for vigilance as thunderstorms accompany the predicted rainfall. Residents are encouraged to stay informed about weather updates and heed warnings from local authorities to ensure their safety during this period of adverse weather conditions.
