The Rajasthan government has granted in-principle approval to open the ornate doors of the Palace on Wheels, one of the world's most opulent trains, for various events, including destination weddings, corporate meetings, and wedding shoots. This strategic move aims to position Rajasthan as a premier destination for tourism, both nationally and internationally.

Expressing the significance of this decision, Deputy Chief Minister Diya Kumari stated, "Making the Palace on Wheels available for destination weddings is a landmark decision. It will not only boost destination weddings in Rajasthan but also foster appreciation for Rajasthani art, culture, and Vedic wedding traditions among foreign tourists."
Couples opting for the Palace on Wheels for their weddings not only ensure unforgettable moments but also become ambassadors for tourism, contributing to the promotion of Rajasthan's rich heritage and India as a whole.
"We have a plan to open the doors of Palace on Wheels for such occasions from this season. The government has given in-principle approval. The exact date and price package will be discussed in the coming days. People will be able to do their bookings online," shared Principal Secretary (Tourism) Gayatri Rathore.

Operated and maintained by the Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation (RTDC), the Palace on Wheels offers a unique and lavish setting for events. With Rajasthan boasting 75% of the country's heritage properties, the state becomes an obvious choice for destination weddings. Currently, over 120 forts, palaces, and havelis in Rajasthan are utilized for hosting such grand events.
This visionary move not only elevates Rajasthan's status as a premier wedding destination but also adds a touch of grandeur to special occasions, encapsulating the essence of Indian culture and tradition.
