Several parts of Hyderabad are expected to witness a scheduled power shutdown on Saturday, July 4, 2026, as electricity authorities carry out planned maintenance work linked to the Peddapur and Kandi substations. The outage is also expected to impact water supply infrastructure in parts of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Area, making it one of the city's major scheduled maintenance exercises.

The planned shutdown is aimed at strengthening the power distribution network and ensuring reliable electricity supply. Residents in the affected areas are advised to make necessary arrangements in advance, especially for essential appliances and water storage.
24-Hour Power Shutdown Schedule
According to the announced schedule, the major shutdown will remain in effect from 7:00 AM on July 4 to 7:00 AM on July 5 in areas served by the Peddapur and Kandi substations.
A separate maintenance schedule has also been announced for parts of Western Hyderabad, where power supply is expected to remain affected from 7:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight).

Water Supply Infrastructure Also to Be Affected
Authorities have also indicated that the maintenance work will impact Hyderabad Metropolitan Area water supply infrastructure connected to the Peddapur and Kandi substations. As a result, residents in the affected localities may experience temporary disruptions in water supply services during the maintenance period.
Residents Advised to Prepare
With maintenance work scheduled to continue for up to 24 hours in several service areas, residents are advised to charge electronic devices, arrange backup power if required, and store sufficient water before the shutdown begins. Businesses and commercial establishments dependent on uninterrupted electricity should also make appropriate contingency arrangements.
Power supply is expected to be restored once the scheduled maintenance and substation works are completed. However, restoration timings may vary depending on the progress of the work.
