Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) has announced special arrangements for the New Year 2026 to help people travel safely during the celebrations. On Wednesday, December 31, metro services on all corridors will run longer than usual. Trains will operate until midnight, and the last trains from all terminal stations will
depart at 1 am on January 1, 2026.
Extended Operating Hours
On regular days, Hyderabad Metro trains run from 6 am to 11 pm. However, on New Year's Eve, services will be extended by nearly two extra hours. This extension is planned to support passengers who will be out late attending New Year's parties, concerts, and other events across the city. With the last trains leaving terminal stations at 1 am, passengers can expect to reach their final destinations by around 2 am.
The main aim of this special schedule is to provide safe, smooth, and convenient transport for people returning home after late-night celebrations. By keeping metro services running longer, HMRL hopes to reduce the need for private vehicles and help avoid traffic congestion during the festive night.
Safety and Security Measures
To handle the expected rush, HMRL will deploy additional security staff at all metro stations on New Year's Eve.
