L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Limited (L&TMRHL) has announced several changes to improve the metro travel experience in Hyderabad. From April 1, metro trains will run until 11:45 PM from Monday to Friday, extending from the previous 11 PM schedule. This change will benefit passengers who travel late at night. On Sundays, the first train will now start at 7 AM, while on weekdays, the 6 AM start time remains unchanged. These updates aim to provide more flexibility to metro users.

Better Connectivity with More Feeder Vehicles
To improve last-mile connectivity, L&TMRHL has expanded its fleet of feeder vehicles operated by SVIDA Mobility. Now, 200 feeder vehicles are available to help passengers reach their destinations easily. This service is expected to assist over 16,000 commuters daily, reducing the travel gap between metro stations and nearby areas. The company shared these updates during the closing ceremony of the Hyderabad Metro Art Fest at L&T Premia Mall in Irrum Manzil.
Special Offers for Students
L&TMRHL is also supporting students by offering a discount scheme that will remain valid until March 31, 2026. Under this offer, students can take 30 metro trips while paying for only 20, making metro travel more affordable. This initiative encourages young commuters to use public transport and helps reduce carbon emissions.
However, two other promotions-the Super Saver Holiday Offer and the Off-Peak Discount Offer-will end on March 31, 2024. These offers had provided additional savings to commuters traveling during off-peak hours and holidays.
New Technology for a Better Travel Experience
L&TMRHL is using technology to make metro travel more convenient. The T-Savaari mobile app has been updated with several new features:
- Passengers can now rate their journey experience.
- Tickets can be canceled using a QR code.
- Users can check ticket booking and recharge status.
- A speech-to-text function makes it easier to select metro stations.
Along with the app, the Hyderabad Metro Passenger Website has been redesigned with AI-powered tools. The new website provides real-time updates and follows Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) AA standards, making it more user-friendly and accessible to everyone.
KVB Reddy, MD & CEO of L&TMRHL, said that the company is focused on making metro travel more efficient, accessible, and convenient. By extending metro service hours, increasing first and last-mile connectivity, introducing student-friendly discounts, and improving digital services, L&TMRHL aims to provide a smoother and more connected travel experience for Hyderabad's commuters. These improvements mark a big step toward making Hyderabad Metro one of the best public transport systems in India.
