Gurugram Metro Phase 2 Approved: From Bajghera to Cyber City in Comfort

The people of Gurugram can look forward to easier travel as the city's metro network is set to grow. The Gurugram Metro project, which recently got approval for Phase 2, will bring better connectivity to key areas of the city. This new phase is a big step forward in improving public transport for both residents and officegoers in the Millennium City.

Gurugram Metro Phase 2 Approved

Connecting Important Areas of Gurugram

The new metro line will connect many crowded and important parts of the city. These include sectors 7, 4, 5, and 3, as well as Bajghera Road, Ashok Vihar, Palam Vihar, Palam Vihar Extension, Sector 23A, and Sector 22. These places have many people living and working in them, so a metro connection will help a lot.

It will also improve travel to major business hubs like Udyog Vihar and DLF Cyber City. With this, officegoers can avoid traffic and reach their workplaces more comfortably and quickly.

Plan to Reduce Traffic on Busy Roads

One of the main goals of this project is to reduce traffic on some of Gurugram's busiest roads. The Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation Limited has plans to extend the metro line from Bhondsi to the Gurgaon railway station.

This plan will help reduce traffic on Sohna Road and NH8, which are usually full of vehicles. The metro route will also go through important junctions like Vatika Chowk and Subhash Chowk, helping people travel faster and making the roads less crowded.

Work Begins with Ground Testing

To move the project forward, the authorities have started the bidding process for a geotechnical survey. This will be done along a 16-kilometer stretch from Sector 9 to Cyber City, with a side track going to the Gurgaon railway station and the planned metro depot.

This survey will study the soil and ground conditions to help in designing and building the metro line safely. Officials from Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) said the survey will begin soon after the final bid is chosen and will be completed in two months.
