The 18th G20 conference, the most anticipated gathering of world leaders this year, will be held in India. US President Joe Biden is expected to arrive in India on September 8 to participate in the international leaders' summit.
All eyes are on the legendary Air Force One, the president of the United States' official plane, as US Vice President Joe Biden gets ready to attend the G20 Summit. With its commanding presence and cutting-edge capabilities, this behemoth of the sky has come to represent the authority and prestige of the American president.
For the G20 conference, US President Joe Biden will fly in Air Force One to India. Technically, "Air Force One" refers to any Air Force aircraft that is transporting the President, but it is now common usage to refer to certain aircraft that are equipped to carry the Commander-in-Chief.
The Air Force refers to the aircraft as the Boeing 747-200B VC-25A, which is the most famous aeroplane in the entire world. The aeroplane is 63 feet tall, which is equivalent to a six-story building. Its astounding measurements include a 232-ft length and a 195-ft wingspan.
Air Force One has a large interior that spans 4,000 square feet over three decks and has room for up to 70 people, all while costing more than $200,000/hour to operate. Air Force One can refuel in midair, has a limitless range, and can transport the President wherever they need to go.
It stands up to an electromagnetic explosion from a nuclear blast and is resistant to nuclear blasts on the ground thanks to the armour plating. The aircraft has electronic countermeasure defence equipment that can jam enemy radars, as well as covert electronic jammers including flares to deflect heat-seeking missiles. To facilitate air-to-air and air-to-ground communication, it also has multi-frequency radios.
The president is provided with an executive suite that includes an office and a stateroom with a dressing area, lavatory, and shower. The president, his family, and employees can also use the conference/dining room. There are additional, separate accommodations for visitors, senior employees, Secret Service & security officials, and media people.
One dinner can serve up to 100 people from two galleys. There are six restrooms for passengers, including one with access for people with disabilities, as well as a rest space and a small kitchen for the crew. President John F. The Air Force One is a flying fortress built to protect the President at all times; it is not just another ordinary aeroplane.
