Dubai has taken a significant step to boost tourism from India by introducing a five-year multiple-entry visa. The visa, which is issued within two to five working days, allows holders to stay in the country for 90 days, with an option to extend for a similar period, totaling a maximum stay of 180 days in a year. This move comes as Dubai experienced a notable increase in Indian visitors, welcoming 2.46 million overnight guests between January and December 2023, exceeding the pre-pandemic figure of 1.97 million visitors in 2019.

Bader Ali Habib, the regional head of proximity markets at the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), emphasized the significance of the relationship between Dubai and India. He highlighted the outstanding inbound visitation from India in 2023, contributing to a record-breaking performance by Dubai's tourism sector.

"India will continue to play an integral role in enabling us to achieve the goals of the D33 Agenda, further reinforcing Dubai's position as a hub for business, investment, and tourism. The five-year multiple entry visa initiative signifies a strategic step towards deepening our already existing ties with India," said Habib.

Dubai witnessed a remarkable year in 2023, hosting 17.15 million international overnight visitors, representing a 19.4% year-on-year growth from 2022 and surpassing the previous record set in 2019. India played a pivotal role in this growth, contributing to a 34% year-on-year increase in international visitors. DET stated that this aligns with the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, aimed at consolidating Dubai's position as one of the top three global cities for business and leisure.

The UAE and India share a longstanding relationship rooted in cultural exchanges, diplomatic cooperation, and significant trade ties. Dubai's diverse attractions, including luxury shopping, cultural experiences, family-friendly activities, and business conferences, cater to the varied preferences of Indian travelers.

The new five-year multiple-entry visa is a testament to Dubai's commitment to strengthening ties with India. It provides not only operational flexibility for business engagements but also extends opportunities for longer and more enriching experiences for Indian tourists. With exceptional flight connectivity and ongoing initiatives focused on the Indian market, Dubai remains confident that it will continue to be the top travel choice for Indian tourists.

Dubai's latest visa initiative marks a historic milestone in deepening the ties between Dubai and India. It reflects Dubai's dedication to fostering economic collaboration and offering diverse experiences to Indian travelers, further solidifying its position as a premier global destination.
