The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced plans to extend platforms at 32 metro stations to reduce rush-hour crowding and make travel smoother for commuters. The stations that will have longer platforms include Noida Sector-15, 16, 18, Golf Course, and Noida City Centre on the Blue Line, as well

as Laxmi Nagar, Nirman Vihar, and Preet Vihar on the Blue Line Extension.
Delhi Metro to Enhance Commutation
According to DMRC officials, this upgrade will enable stations to accommodate longer trains and more passengers, improving comfort and safety, especially during busy hours. The platform extensions are part of ongoing efforts to modernize the metro system and enhance passenger convenience on the Dwarka-Noida and Dwarka-Vaishali corridors.
Technical Bids
The project is estimated to cost around ₹5.71 crore. A tender for the work was issued on October 24, and interested parties can submit bids until November 17. The technical bids will be opened on November 18, and a pre-bid meeting will take place online on October 31. The work is expected to be completed within a year once it begins. Officials stated that the move will make boarding and exiting trains easier, reducing crowding and pushing, and improve passenger safety by minimizing the risk of accidents.
Delhi Metro Network & Expansion Project
The Delhi Metro network currently operates 10 lines and two rapid rail routes, serving around 65 lakh commuters every weekday. Among them, the Blue Line is one of the busiest and longest routes, stretching nearly 50 km from Dwarka Sector 21 to Noida Electronic City, with a branch line to Vaishali. This expansion project reflects DMRC's focus on meeting future travel needs and ensuring smoother, safer, and more comfortable journeys for millions of daily passengers.
