Delhi Metro services will start early at 4 am on August 15 to help special guests, invitees, and members of the public reach the Independence Day celebrations, announced on Thursday.

Delhi Metro Trains to Operate from 4 A.M. Tomorrow
According to the DMRC, trains will operate on all metro lines every 30 minutes from 4 am until regular services begin, in accordance with the scheduled timetable for the day. The early morning service is intended to make travel easier for people attending the Independence Day celebrations at the Red Fort.
Delhi Metro's Special Arrangements for Guests
The DMRC has also made special arrangements for guests and official invitees. Around 1.30 lakh pre-vended QR tickets have been provided to the Ministry of Defence for the travel of special guests and authorised invitees attending the event.
People carrying valid physical admit cards issued by the Ministry of Defence will also receive special QR tickets at selected metro stations. These tickets will help eligible invitees travel to the venue conveniently, without difficulty purchasing tickets in the early morning hours.
The metro stations closest to the Independence Day celebration venue at the Red Fort are Lal Quila, Jama Masjid and Delhi Gate. Passengers attending the event can use these stations to reach the venue.
The DMRC also clarified that the cost of travel made using the special QR tickets will be reimbursed to the corporation by the Ministry of Defence.
The early start is part of the transport arrangements for Independence Day on August 15, when large numbers of people, including officials, guests and members of the public, are expected to travel towards central Delhi. Commuters have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly and check the latest metro and security-related updates before travelling.
