On Kartik Purnima, Varanasi will witness the grand celebration of Dev Deepawali, beginning with the inauguration of Namo Ghat. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar will light the first lamp, marking the start of this spiritual festival. Joining him are esteemed figures like Governor Anandiben Patel, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, and Union Minister Hardeep Puri, further adding to the importance of this event. Dev Deepawali is set to illuminate the city with over 17 lakh lamps, including 3 lakh eco-friendly lamps made from cow dung, showcasing an environmentally conscious approach.

To ensure safety, Varanasi has been declared a no-fly zone, and additional security, including water police, will be deployed. This year's celebrations feature special attractions such as a 3D projection mapping laser show at Chet Singh Ghat and a Green Crackers Show across the Ganges sands, promising a unique experience for visitors.
One of the highlights is the "Bhageeratha Shaurya Samman," an honor for the bravery of martyred heroes, presented during the Maha Aarti ceremony. The Kashi Vishwanath Temple, a key location for this festival, will be beautifully decorated with flowers and lamps, creating a peaceful and divine atmosphere.
In an effort to improve life for Varanasi residents, the city is introducing an automatic system for monitoring water tanks online, helping solve local water supply issues. Recent city developments also include tensions among farmers, lawyers, and police over the demolition of a wall near Kashi Vishwanath Temple, showing the balance Varanasi seeks to maintain between preserving heritage and advancing urban development.
The decorations at Kashi Vishwanath Temple, extending from Lalita Ghat, will feature vibrant electric lights, colorful floral arrangements, and lamps surrounding the sanctum sanctorum. Baba Vishwanath will be specially adorned with fragrant garlands and rose petals. Devotees will have enhanced facilities to worship and enjoy the festival with improved security measures, including temple volunteers and police personnel monitoring the entire complex and ghats.

Dev Deepawali this year not only reflects Kashi's spiritual and cultural heritage but also aims to create an unforgettable experience for all, including VVIP guests who have pre-booked tickets. Special arrangements for ticket purchase at temple counters make it easy for these guests to participate.
SDM Shambhusharan of Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple shared, "On Dev Deepawali, the entire temple complex will be beautifully decorated. A laser show and fireworks display have also been planned, adding to the festival's splendor." Dev Deepawali promises to be an enchanting event that honors Varanasi's deep traditions and cultural richness, offering a safe, divine, and joyful experience for all visitors.
