Delhi Rain Alert Today: Delhi-NCR is Likely to Experience Cloudy Skies & Thunderstorms on Thursday

Delhi-NCR is likely to witness cloudy skies, rain and thunderstorms on Thursday, July 30, bringing relief from the recent hot and humid weather. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), light to moderate rainfall is expected across Delhi, Noida, Gurugram, Ghaziabad and Faridabad, with some areas likely to receive heavy showers during the day.

Delhi Rain Alert Today

The IMD has forecast generally cloudy skies along with thunderstorms, lightning and rain, which could make the weather more pleasant by lowering temperatures. However, the department has also warned that heavy rain may cause waterlogging, traffic jams and slower vehicle movement, especially in low-lying areas and busy roads. Residents are advised to check traffic updates before travelling and avoid unnecessary trips during periods of intense rainfall.

Maximum temperatures across Delhi-NCR are expected to remain around 34°C to 36°C, while the minimum temperature is likely to stay between 26°C and 28°C. Although the rain will bring some relief from the heat, humidity levels are expected to remain high, making the weather feel sticky at times.

The change in weather is due to active monsoon conditions over North India. Rainfall is expected to continue over the next few days, with occasional thunderstorms and gusty winds across the region. Weather experts say these conditions will help improve air quality and keep daytime temperatures below the usual levels for this time of the year.

Advisory for Delhi Residents

People are advised to remain cautious while travelling, especially during heavy rain. Motorists should drive carefully on waterlogged roads, and commuters using public transport should check service updates before leaving home. Those heading outdoors are advised to carry umbrellas or raincoats and stay updated with the latest weather advisories issued by the IMD.
