Heavy rain lashed Delhi-NCR on Wednesday morning, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a yellow alert for the region. The weather department has predicted that rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds will continue over the next five days. While Delhi is expected to receive more showers, Gurugram is
still experiencing conditions including flooding, waterlogging, and severe traffic problems caused by heavy monsoon rain on Tuesday.
Delhi Rain Alert on Wednesday & Thursday
According to the IMD, Delhi will remain cloudy on Wednesday and Thursday. The city is likely to experience light rain at several places, with isolated moderate showers, thunderstorms, and lightning. Winds are expected to blow at speeds of 30-40 kmph and may gust up to 50 kmph during stormy conditions.
On July 9, Delhi is expected to receive light to moderate rainfall at isolated places, especially during the morning and afternoon. Another spell of light rain may occur during the night. The weather department has advised people to stay alert during thunderstorms and strong winds over the next three days.
Green Alert in Delhi
The IMD plans to lower the warning level to a Green Alert on July 10 and 11. However, cloudy skies will continue, and some areas may still receive light rain along with thunderstorms and lightning during the day.
