The beginning of May has brought some relief from the heat for people living in Delhi-NCR. Since Friday morning, the weather has turned more pleasant, with cloudy skies and light haze. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), this change is due to a western disturbance, which has caused temperatures
to drop slightly. This weather system is also expected to affect nearby regions like Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Delhi-NCR. It may bring dust storms, lightning, and light to moderate rainfall over the next few days.
Delhi Rain Alert
Temperatures in Delhi-NCR are likely to decrease by about 3-4°C for a short period. After that, they may rise again by 2-3°C. On Thursday, the maximum temperature was recorded at 39.9°C, while the minimum was 25.4°C. The IMD has also predicted more changes in the weather between May 2 and May 6, with chances of thunderstorms, rain, and strong winds continuing during this time. By Thursday evening, some areas had already started experiencing cooler conditions, with rainfall and even hailstorms in a few places. Over the last 24 hours, winds from the southeast blew at speeds of 10-15 kmph, with stronger gusts reaching up to 46 kmph.

For Friday, the forecast includes partly cloudy skies. The minimum temperature is expected to be between 20°C and 22°C, while the maximum could range from 39°C to 41°C. Winds may blow at speeds of 40-60 kmph, and during dust storms, gusts could reach 60-70 kmph.
The IMD has issued yellow and orange alerts for different parts of the city, warning of thunderstorms, strong winds, and possible dust storms. People are advised to stay careful and take necessary precautions.
