A change in weather across North India brought much-needed relief from the intense summer heat on Wednesday. Regions such as Delhi-NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, and Haryana experienced a noticeable drop in temperatures. People who had been struggling with the scorching heat finally found some comfort in the weather. According

to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), both maximum and minimum temperatures decline on April 29. This pleasant change is expected to continue into the first week of May, giving residents more relief from the heatwave.
Temperatures in Delhi
In Delhi, the maximum temperature settled at 37.1°C, which was slightly below normal, while the minimum temperature dropped sharply to 20.4°C, well below the average. Just a day earlier, the city had recorded much higher temperatures, with a maximum of 39.2°C and a minimum of 28.4°C. This shows how quickly the weather changed within just 24 hours.
Delhi Rain Alert
The rainfall played a major role in this sudden cooling. The maximum temperature dropped by around 2 degrees, while the minimum fell by about 8 degrees. The IMD has predicted more rain and thunderstorms in the Delhi-NCR region, which will likely keep temperatures lower in the coming days. From May 1 to May 5, the weather is expected to remain partly cloudy, with temperatures ranging between 35°C and 40°C. For now, the forecast suggests a minimum temperature between 20°C and 22°C and a maximum between 35°C and 37°C.
Winds are expected to blow at speeds of 30 to 50 km/h, and conditions may become cloudy or overcast as the day progresses. Light rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds are also likely.
The IMD has issued yellow and orange alerts in different parts of Delhi, warning of thunderstorms, dust storms, rain, and strong winds, especially in the southwest areas.
