Delhi Weather Records

This weather change came a day after Delhi recorded its coolest day of June so far, offering relief from the intense heat and humidity that residents had been facing. According to the IMD, Safdarjung, the city's main weather station, recorded a maximum temperature of 33.3 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. This was 5.5 degrees below the normal temperature and much lower than Monday's maximum of 37.5 degrees Celsius.

Other parts of Delhi also reported cooler-than-normal temperatures. The Ridge area recorded the highest maximum temperature at 34.5 degrees Celsius, while Lodhi Road recorded 33.2 degrees Celsius. Ayanagar and Palam reported maximum temperatures of 32.7 degrees Celsius and 32.5 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Rainfall was observed in several parts of the city. Palam received the highest rainfall of 9.1 mm between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm. Safdarjung recorded 2.8 mm of rain, Ayanagar received 2.5 mm, and Lodhi Road recorded 1.2 mm.

Minimum temperatures also remained below normal. Safdarjung recorded a minimum temperature of 25.7 degrees Celsius, while Lodhi Road, Ayanagar, Palam, and Ridge recorded temperatures ranging between 23 and 24 degrees Celsius.

Delhi Rain Alert

The IMD has predicted cloudy skies, thunderstorms, and light rain over the next few days. Delhi is expected to record a maximum temperature of around 34 degrees Celsius and a minimum of around 26 degrees Celsius on Wednesday. Weather experts say temperatures will remain comfortable due to atmospheric moisture. However, a gradual temperature rise is expected after June 21 as rainfall activity decreases.
