Why Is There a Power Cut?

According to the power distribution companies, the outages are part of scheduled maintenance and infrastructure improvement works, including transformer servicing, load balancing, inspection of power lines, LT circuit improvements and other technical upgrades. These activities are intended to improve the reliability and stability of Delhi's electricity network.

Advisory for Residents

Residents in the affected areas are advised to:

  • Charge mobile phones, laptops and power banks before the scheduled shutdown.
  • Keep backup lighting or inverter systems ready.
  • Store sufficient drinking water if electric pumps are used.
  • Plan work-from-home schedules and other essential activities around the outage timings.
  • Make alternative arrangements for households relying on electrically powered medical equipment.

Power supply is expected to be restored after the completion of the maintenance works. However, restoration timings may vary depending on the progress of field operations.
