Delhi Police Alerts Commuters Ahead Of Samvidhan Divas Padyatra Traffic Restrictions

The Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory for the Samvidhan Divas Padyatra, set for November 25, 2023, at India Gate. The event commemorates the 75th anniversary of India's constitution, expecting around 10,000 participants. Traffic restrictions and alternative routes have been advised to ensure safety and smooth movement.

In anticipation of the significant Samvidhan Divas Padyatra set to take place on November 25, the Delhi Police has issued a traffic advisory highlighting restrictions around the India Gate area. The procession aims to commemorate the 75th anniversary of India's constitution adoption, drawing attention to this monumental occasion.

Organized by the Department of Youth Affairs through 'Mera Yuva Bharat,' an autonomous body, the event promises to be a significant gathering. The Padyatra, which is expected to attract around 10,000 youths and participants, will commence at 8 am from the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium at the India Gate Circle and conclude at the same location by 9:30 am.

The advisory specifically cautions commuters about the expected disruptions, especially around the C-Hexagon and the roundabout at MLNP. To facilitate smooth traffic flow and prevent any obstructions, a strict no-parking rule will be enforced in these areas. Vehicles found violating this directive will be towed away to the Traffic Pit located in front of Bhairo Mandir on Bhairon Marg. This action will be taken against those who park improperly or disobey lawful instructions, highlighting the police's commitment to maintaining order during this event.

Furthermore, the police have advised avoiding several key roads in the vicinity of the event. These include Tilak Marg, Ashoka Road, Shahjahan Road, and several others leading up to and around the India Gate. Additionally, the advisory suggests steering clear of the Pragati Maidan tunnels approaching India Gate to minimize congestion and facilitate smoother traffic movement. Commuters are encouraged to use alternative routes and rely more on public transport to navigate around the restricted zones. This approach aims to ensure everyone's safety and reduce the likelihood of traffic snarls during the Padyatra.

The Padyatra not only serves as a platform to honor the adoption of the constitution but also showcases the youth's involvement in national events. Led by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports and Labour & Employment, along with other dignitaries, the event is a testament to the collective spirit of commemoration and respect for the nation's constitutional history. The police's advisory reflects a comprehensive plan to manage the influx of participants and maintain traffic order, ensuring the Padyatra's smooth execution.

The Delhi Police's advisory for the upcoming Samvidhan Divas Padyatra underscores the significance of proactive traffic management and public cooperation. As the city gears up to celebrate a key milestone in its democratic journey, the emphasis on minimizing disruptions and ensuring safety for all underscores the importance of organization and public awareness. This event not only marks a significant date in India's constitutional history but also reinforces the role of the youth in the country's democratic processes.
