The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is preparing to commence construction work on underground tunnels as part of the Phase 4 Green Line extension from Inderlok to Indraprastha, for which DMRC has issued a tender inviting companies to bid for the project. According to the tender, four stations are included

in this phase of work: New Delhi, Delhi Gate, Delhi Sachivalaya-IG Stadium, and Indraprastha. Once the contract is awarded, the entire construction is expected to be finished within 42 months.
Approval of Two Corridors under Phase 4 Metro
Last March, the Union Cabinet, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approved two new corridors under Phase 4 of the Delhi Metro. One of these was the 12.3 km Green Line extension from Inderlok to Indraprastha, which will have 10 stations. The second approved corridor was the 8 km stretch from Lajpat Nagar to Saket G-Block, which will become part of the future Golden Line connecting Tughlakabad and Aerocity.
Release of Latest Tender
The latest tender, released on November 21, calls for bids to design and build a twin tunnel using a tunnel boring machine (TBM), along with a cut-and-cover tunnel box and four underground stations. The tender also includes construction of station entry and exit points, finishing work, water supply systems, sanitation facilities, and drainage. Interested bidders must submit their proposals by January 12, along with a security deposit of ₹17.65 crore.
Green Line Extension
The upcoming Green Line extension will have 10 stations: Inderlok, Dayabasti, Ajmal Khan Park, Jhandewalan Mandir, Nabi Karim, New Delhi, Delhi Gate, Delhi Sachivalaya, and Indraprastha. Out of the 12.3 km stretch, 11.3 km will be underground, while only a 1 km portion will be elevated. This new route will offer five interchange stations at Inderlok, Nabi Karim, New Delhi, Delhi Gate, and Indraprastha, linking passengers to the Red, Magenta, Yellow, Violet, and Blue metro lines.
