The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced special metro timings for the upcoming MCD bye-elections to make travel easier for polling staff. Metro trains will begin running earlier than usual this weekend so that election teams can reach their assigned locations on time without facing any delays.

Delhi Metro's Timings
According to an update shared by DMRC on X on Sunday, all metro lines will start operations at 4:00 AM on Sunday, November 30, the day of voting. Between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM, trains will run every 30 minutes. After 6:00 AM, the usual Sunday schedule will resume. Additionally, the last metro train on this day will leave 30 minutes later than the regular closing time to help passengers return comfortably.
The same special timings will apply again on Wednesday, December 3, the day when the vote counting takes place. Services will once more begin at 4:00 AM with trains running every 30 minutes in the early morning hours before switching to the normal weekday timetable after 6:00 AM.
These transport changes come at a time when the Model Code of Conduct is being strictly enforced. The State Election Commission has already announced a 48-hour silence period before the polling day. From 5:30 PM on November 28 to 5:30 PM on November 30, no media outlet, whether print, online, or electronic, is allowed to publish or share any election-related content, such as surveys or opinion polls.
