The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced a convenient check-in and bag drop service for international flights at two key metro stations in the national capital city: New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium on the Airport Express Line. This new service, launched in the first week of June, aims to simplify travel procedures for passengers flying from Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in New Delhi.

For Air India passengers, the check-in and bag drop service operates at New Delhi station from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Vistara Airlines passengers can use this service at New Delhi station from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. This service is designed to make the travel experience smoother and less stressful for passengers.
The check-in timings for this service are different for domestic and international flights. For domestic flights, passengers can check in their luggage between 12 hours and 2 hours before departure. For international flights, the check-in window is between 4 hours and 3 hours before the flight. This allows passengers ample time to manage their travel plans without rushing.
The key features of this service include the ability for passengers to check in their luggage at these metro stations. Once checked in, the luggage is securely transported to the aircraft via automated systems. This ensures that passengers do not have to carry their luggage through the airport, making their journey more comfortable and hassle-free.
The DMRC has collaborated with Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), Air India, and Vistara Airlines to offer this service to international travelers. This partnership aims to provide a seamless travel experience for passengers and reduce congestion at the airport. The DMRC is also looking to involve additional airlines in the future to further enhance the benefits for travelers.
Using the check-in and bag-drop service at Delhi Metro stations offers several advantages:
1. Time-Saving: Passengers can check in their luggage conveniently at the metro station, saving time at the airport.
2. Reduced Stress: Avoid long queues at the airport check-in counters and security lines.
3. Secure Handling: The automated system ensures the safe transport of luggage to the aircraft.
4. Collaboration: The service is a result of collaboration between Delhi Metro, airlines, and the airport authority.
5. Extended Hours: The service operates during extended hours, accommodating various flight schedules.

The introduction of this service by the DMRC is a significant step towards improving the travel experience for passengers. By allowing them to check in their luggage at metro stations, the DMRC is helping to make air travel more efficient and less stressful. This initiative is particularly beneficial for passengers who travel frequently and need a convenient way to manage their luggage.
The check-in and bag drop service at Delhi Metro stations is a welcome addition for travelers using the Airport Express Line. It offers a range of benefits that make the travel process smoother and more enjoyable. With the DMRC's ongoing efforts to involve more airlines, this service is set to become even more valuable for international travelers in the future.
