On Monday morning, Delhi Metro's Yellow Line services were disrupted for about one and a half hours due to an incident at Vishwavidyalaya Metro Station. The disruption occurred during peak office hours, leading to inconvenience for a large number of commuters.

Why did the delay occur?
According to reports, the delay occurred after a passenger was found on the metro track at the station. Because of this safety issue, train services had to be temporarily halted and regulated to prevent any accidents. As a result, trains on this busy route were delayed, and normal operations were affected for a significant period.
Disruption caused Inconvenience
The disruption led to heavy crowding at several metro stations along the Yellow Line. Many passengers were seen waiting on platforms for long periods, as trains were either delayed or running less frequently than usual. Since the Yellow Line is one of the most crowded routes in the city, connecting key areas of Delhi, even a short disruption causes major inconvenience, especially during the peak hours.
Challenges Faced by Commuters
Commuters faced difficulties reaching their workplaces and other destinations on time. The situation became more challenging because it occurred during the morning rush, when thousands of people depend on metro services for daily travel. After around 1.5 hours, metro services gradually returned to normal once the situation was handled. Authorities ensured that safety measures were followed before resuming operations in total.
