The Jammu Railway Division has decided to add extra coaches to the special trains running between New Delhi and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to handle the heavy passenger rush during the summer season.

Addition of Coaches to Special Trains
Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM) of Jammu Railway Division, Uchit Singhal, said that the total number of coaches in these trains has now been increased to 22. This will help hundreds more passengers get confirmed tickets every day and make travel easier during the busy holiday period.
List of Trains to Pass through the Jammu Division
Singhal also said that the railway division is closely monitoring other important premium trains passing through the Jammu Division. These include the New Delhi-Jammu Tawi Rajdhani Express and the Jammu Tawi-Sealdah Express. According to him, extra coaches are being added to these trains whenever needed to maintain passenger comfort, convenience, and safety.
Why is the Step Taken?
He stated that the main aim of the Jammu Railway Division is to ensure that passengers travelling to and from Jammu do not face any problems during their journey. The division is taking several steps to provide a smooth and comfortable travel experience, especially during the summer vacation and festive season when passenger demand is usually very high.
Delhi-Katra Train
To manage the increasing number of passengers on the New Delhi-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra route, the railway authorities have decided to temporarily add one extra sleeper class coach to special train numbers 04081 and 04082.
Public Relations Inspector of Jammu Railway Division, Raghvender Singh, shared details about the train operations. Train number 04081 runs from New Delhi to Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. One additional sleeper coach has been added to this train from May 22 to May 27, 2026.
Similarly, train number 04082, which runs from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra to New Delhi every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, will also have one extra sleeper coach from May 23 to May 28, 2026. This temporary increase in coaches is expected to help many passengers during the busy travel season.
