Cyclone 'Dana' Expected to Impact 10 Districts in Odisha: Suresh Pujari

Odisha's Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari has announced that Cyclone Dana is anticipated to impact approximately 10 districts. This includes 60 blocks, 2,131 villages, 12 urban local bodies, and 55 wards across various municipalities. As part of the preparedness efforts, 370,000 individuals have been evacuated, and 7,307 relief centers have been set up throughout the affected districts. Currently, 4,756 of these cyclone relief centers are operational. Moreover, 6,454 pet animals have been relocated to safety. To ensure the wellbeing of evacuees, 213 medical teams and 120 veterinary teams have been dispatched to different locations. A total of 385 response personnel have been mobilized, which includes 19 teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), 51 from the Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF), 220 fire brigades, and 95 teams from the Odisha Forest Development Corporation.
