Coldplay has announced a concert in Ahmedabad as part of their Music of the Spheres World Tour, marking a significant event for music lovers in India. This concert will be held at the famous Narendra Modi Stadium on January 25, 2025, a venue that holds the record as the largest cricket stadium in the world. Coldplay's Ahmedabad show is expected to welcome around 100,000 fans, making it the band's biggest stadium concert to date.

This addition of Moon Music songs is exciting for fans, as it blends Coldplay's classic sound with new themes, adding a fresh experience to their live performances.
Ticket Purchase Process
Tickets for this highly awaited show will go on sale on November 16, 2024, starting at 12 PM IST through BookMyShow. Fans are advised to act quickly, as Coldplay's concerts are known to sell out rapidly. This Ahmedabad date was added due to overwhelming demand after the announcement of three Coldplay shows in Mumbai. The band, led by Chris Martin, last performed in India in 2016, so this series of concerts marks a major return for the British pop-rock stars.
BookMyShow, the official ticketing platform, has set up a structured ticket-buying process to manage the high demand. Fans will need to log into the BookMyShow website using their email or phone number and select a ticket category. At 11 AM on November 16, one hour before the tickets go on sale, a virtual waiting room will open. Fans can enter this waiting room any time between 11 and 11:59 AM.
However, entry into the waiting room does not guarantee priority. Positions in the ticket queue are randomly assigned once the sale starts at 12 PM, so fans are advised not to refresh or exit the page to keep their place. Once they reach the front of the queue, they will have four minutes to complete their purchase, with a limit of four tickets per person.
Ticket Prices and Categories
Although prices for Ahmedabad tickets are yet to be confirmed, fans can get an idea from the pricing of the Mumbai concerts. Ticket prices in Mumbai ranged from ₹2,500 to ₹35,000, with VIP lounge access priced on the higher end. Infinity Tickets, available for purchase in pairs with a limit of two per buyer, were set at ₹2,500. Ahmedabad may offer similar options, providing fans a range of prices to choose from.
Concerns Over Ticket Scalping
In past concerts, including Coldplay's shows in Mumbai, issues with ticket scalping and black marketing were reported. Some fans faced challenges with unresponsive websites, and tickets were resold on the black market for much higher prices. In response, the Maharashtra Cyber Cell issued a notice to BookMyShow, urging them to prevent scalping, and a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) was filed to enforce measures to stop such practices.
To address these issues for the Ahmedabad concert, BookMyShow has set up a virtual queue and random order selection to ensure a fair ticket-buying experience. Fans are still advised to purchase tickets only from official sources and to be cautious when buying tickets online.
